Berkely, MI - Never seen this on the menu before at a Mexican restaurant, so of course, I had to try it. It is Guisado De Puerco at Margaritas. It is a Pork Stew with Tomatillos. Can you say Yummy? The pork stew was cooked very well, the meat was so soft and tender. The tomato sauce really compliments the whole dish. Enjoy!

Berkely, MI - Mexican take-out! This is Chiles Rellenos from Margaritas. It's stuffed bell peppers with seasoned beef cubes or cheese dressed in egg and topped with ranchero sauce. Can you say MMMMMM! Once again, they pull of an excellent dish. It does have a strong bell pepper taste, so if you don't like bell peppers, stay clear. If you do, it complements the meal very well. It also wasn't to spice and the ranchero sauce gave it the extra flavoring it needed. Enjoy!

Royal Oak, MI - Thai I've never had. Yum Voon Sen from Thai Express. I saw it on the menu and tried to recall if I've ever had it before. Once I opened it, I knew instantly that I had not. How exciting, new dish, not really knowing what to expect. Surprise, it was sweet and a stronger citrus flavor, which I didn't expect at all. One of the reasons I've never had it was because it was under the Salad section. I've never had a Thai salad. Why not try! It is made up of fresh silver noodles tossed with tofu or meat and in a lemon dressing. Ah Ha! Lemon Dressing. That was it that made it have a strong citrus taste. I would recommend it, I don't know if I would add this to my permanent repertoire, but it was still good and I enjoyed it. Enjoy!

Royal Oak, MI - O, how I love my Thai food. This is from Thai Express, they deliver! The dish is called Kuoy Tiew Haeng, which is steamed rice noodles with green onions, bean sprouts and Thai light brown sauce, topped with crushed peanut and fried garlic. What sold me on this was the fried garlic. You can never go wrong with any garlic. Actually, in my taste, it could have used even more garlic, but I suppose many people don't like smelling like it. If I get it again, I'm getting extra garlic! Enjoy!

Royal Oak, MI - Try Napali food yet? This is Tamabodi Tarakari, a black eye pea dish that is amazing. If you're looking for a dish with flavor, you have to try this. It is sauteed with olive oil, onions, and tomatoes, in a whole bunch of spices, such as tarragon and cumin. It takes a little while to get the food, but wait, you'll be thankful in the end. Enjoy!

Birmingham, MI - The sweet tooth is kicking in! This delicious looking cupcake is creamsicle flavored from the Cupcake Station. No surprise, it's as good as it looks. The cupcake was a vanilla flavor and the frosting had the slight decadent flavor of a creamsicle. One thing that was very nice about it, was that the creamsicle flavoring wasn't over powering. It could have had a little more, but it was still good at the current level . Enjoy!

Royal Oak, MI - Time for adventure eating. I've never had food from Nepal, so when I saw the restaurant Kathmandu Chullo, Nepali food, I almost pulled over immediately to try this out. I was patient and waited to find a parking spot for this place, ended up parking illegally, but it was worth it. It is a very authentic restaurant with the food and atmosphere being very traditional. In side, you take your shoes off, sit on the floor to eat, and everything is made from scratch and fresh ingredients. Therefore, the food takes a little longer to prepare, but good things come to people who are patient. This dish is called Biratnagar Chana, chickpeas sauteed with tomato sauce. The spices the owner told me uses is lots of tarragon and cumin. The dish is filling and flavors I don't think I've had before combined. The best way to describe the dish is that it is an explosion of flavor in your mouth. It's not like many dishes at restaurants where the flavor is good, but not a lot of it there. Not the case at all, it fills your mouth with flavor and I would definitely recommend the dish and restaurant. Enjoy!
Royal Oak, MI - Enchiladas are one of my favorite Mexican dishes. So I usually try them whenever I get a chance. Margaritas in Royal Oak was my next attempt. I can simply say that they are worth getting again. You can order them with ground beef, chicken, pulled beef or pork, or bean and cheese. These tasty guys were bean and cheese. It is served here slightly differently than other restaurants, in that it is not smothered in sauce, but it is in cheese. Well, everyone knows the "Power of Cheese", it made it delicious. In addition, I also really like the flavor of the beans and rice. It actually has an authentic flavor, rather a ubiquitous out of the box flavor. One of the best things at this restaurant, no smoking. That rocks! Downside, no alcohol, so no margaritas or daiquiris during dinner. :( Enjoy!

Royal Oak, MI - Feel like Italian tonight? How about a excellent tasting and presented Cantelloni? This is from Pasquales, an Italian restaurant that has been open for a very long time and recognized in the community as an excellent Italian place. The food upholds their perception. The Cantelloni was prepared very good with meat wrapped in a flour type shell rather a noodle, which really makes the dish unique. The sauce is prepared very well and covered with just enough cheese. Enjoy!
