Okemos, MI - The only Persian restaurant I could find in the lansing area was the New Aladdins. This is hummus, and lamb kabob over fattoush. If you've never had hummus before, it is very good with a pasty texture. It is made out of ground chick peas, tahini sauce, and olive oil. Some people also use some paprika and garlic. I love the ones with garlic in it. Usually it has a grainy texture, but this one, was very creamy. It was almost like whipped cream cheese. It was very good, but interesting since it was so fluffy in texture. As for the lamb kabob, man that was so good. I rarely eat lamb, so its usually a treat when I do. This was worth the wait. The cooked it just right, medium rare, the spices are perfect. When served over fattoush, which is salad with cucumbers and special dressing, it's delicious. Enjoy!
