Royal Oak, MI - Is a heart attack worth good food? I might have to say yes on this one. I know, it looks like it's a heart attack waiting to happen. It hasn't happened yet, thank goodness, but may have been worth it. This is called the Philadelphia from Redcoat Tavern. It's their version of a Philly cheese steak. It's sliced beef, sauteed onions and green peppers, topped with their swiss cheese, and then topped with Zip sauce (which is similar to a french onion soup flavor). The Zip sauce normally by itself or with a burger, in my opinion, is not very good. However, on the Philadelphia, definitely a major component. I was also surprised that the pickle almost tasted like a New Dill. Not bad at all. Enjoy!
This blog is dedicated to all those who truly enjoy food. Culinary expert? I don't believe you have to be a culinary connoisseur to appreciate good food. As I travel throughout Michigan or the world, I plan to post pictures of the food I get to taste and the experience that comes along with it. Enjoy! (Click on the pictures for a closeup view)
